Hon. Justice John Inyang Okoro of the Nigerian Supreme Court has alleged that Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi and Umana Umana, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom, tried on separate occasions to bribe him in order for him to invalidate the outcome of the 2015 governorship election in Akwa Ibom.

Hon. Justice John Inyang Okoro, has written to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed saying he did not receive any bribe from anybody and that the said amount of money recovered from his home was duly earned. 

Justice Okoro had in a lengthy letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, accused President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Okon Umana Okon of being behind his ordeal, because he refused to help the ruling APC deliver judgments in the Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Abia governorship election appeals to the favour of the party.

Mr Rotimi Amaechi, through his media office Tuesday night, said such a thing never happened, adding that Justice Okoro was a blatant liar.
