What are your goals for the year 2017?

What is goal? 
A goal is a plan of what you want to achieve.

Goal is your intention for the year.

What you set to achieve in a particular period of time.

Goal setting is the first step to achieving your goal.
Your Dreams and  attitudes matters a lot if you must achieve your goals.
The only thing that can stop you from achieving your goals is fear.
 We must learn to dream big dreams.
God has is own plans. So we must also plan.

In the book of Genesis 11:4‭-‬6 “they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.  And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do”. Genesis 11:4‭-‬6.‬‬

To overcome that fear, today you need to Plan your year.

The only thing that will make you not to achieve your goal is fear.

Dream big.
When you look at the book of Genesis 41:28-35 “This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.  Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:  And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt;
and the famine shall consume the land;  And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.  Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.  Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.  And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

Don't just wait, plan your year.
Nigeria as a country actually failed to plan, that is the reason why they find themselves in this quagmire.

Joseph was able to interpret the King's Dream because the king was so anxious to know the meaning of the Dream.
God is a God of time.
Time wait for no one.

Write down your plans including the date and time.
If you do not plan, you have planned to fail.
When we talk about goal setting, it is not just a new thing.
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; Genesis 15:13

If you also look at the book of Jeremiah 1:5-6. It says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  Then said I, Ah, Lord God ! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child”.

God have plans for us even before he created us.
God is not interested in your excuses, no matter what you are going through in life.
Set goals and Plan your life.
Don't teach people how to demand for fish, teach them how to fish.
There is integrity in Labour.

Don't go into this year without plans.
Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,  Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.  Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Joshua 1:1‭-‬6...

Stop  complaining and do something today. plan your life.

AS A CHRISTIAN 
Your plan should be in line with the plans of God for you.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;  If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.  Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you”. Philippians 3:10‭-‬15

WHY WE SHOULD SET GOALS AS CHRISTIANS
(1) To meet an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”. Jeremiah 29:11

(2) Goals gives direction. (Divine Direction)
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13‭-‬14

What are your plans for this year?

WHAT TYPE OF GOALS SHOULD WE SET?
It must be in line with the word of God.
(1) Have faith in God.
(2) Know God's plan for your life. Let God come first in your life and in  everything you do
(3) Pray on your plans.
(4) Focus on God's plans for you.
It is you time to rise up.
When you Get home today, write down your plans and goals.
Lift it up to God.
Don't just waste your money.
Don't eat up your tomorrow today.
Set goals today.
This year you must make It.
