Former Governor James Onanefe Ibori of Delta State, who was released from prison in the United Kingdom (UK) has been arrested by DSS in Nigeria.
Mr. Ibori arrived in Abuja unheralded, with no friends or family to welcome him at the airport. Instead, officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) picked him up. A DSS official told
News Men that Mr. Ibori was still in their custody and was undergoing interrogation in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
It is unlikely that the former governor will arrive today in his hometown of Oghara in Delta State
where a throng of his supporters have been organizing a raucous welcome to mark his release from British prison where he served a 13-year
sentence.
