Administrative/HR Officer
An investment and financial advisory firm with a proven track record with strong roots in Nigeria and other African countries are looking for a responsible Administrative/HR Officer to perform a variety of administrative, accounting and human resource functions. The ideal candidate must be female and must be between the ages of 24-30.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Contribute to budget development and monitor spending against budget
• Establish a document management system and maintain personnel files
• Maintain and update Employee Handbook and Benefits Manual
• Serve as point of contact for all payroll/benefits inquiries and complaints, ensuring prompt, courteous and appropriate resolution
• Ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws, licenses and accreditations
• Maintain all required insurance policies including but not limited to liability, vehicle, Workers’ Compensation, etc.
• Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, and termination
• Create and maintain accurate job descriptions
• Oversee facilities maintenance
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
The ideal candidate
Minimum of two to three years’ experience in general administration
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field with a second class upper (2.1). Professional qualifications in either CIPM/ICAN/NIM will be an added advantage.
• Experience in bookkeeping and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Ability to research, analyze, and retrieve data necessary to complete duties
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Familiarity with local, state and federal employment-related laws
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and manage conflict in a professional, productive manner
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Skilled at managing time and multiple priorities to carry out assignments in a timely and thorough manner
• Commitment to professional and ethical standards
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
